John will teach a beginner / intermediate Lindy Hop lesson
at 7:30 p.m. before the dance. The focus of this class will
be "moves everyone should be able to lead or follow".

Next week, Orin will teach the first lesson of a two-week
beginner East Coast swing class.

1. Can someone represent the Lindy Hop Society at the ASA
General Body Meeting this evening at 7pm in 54-100? We need
a representative there to maintain our status as a student
group.

2. Would anyone like to teach a beginner lesson at "La
Fete", a swing semiformal at Edgerton dormitory on Saturday,
May 6? The lesson will run from about 7-8.

3. Would anyone like to teach a beginner Lindy Hop lesson to
the Ballroom Dance Club on Sunday, May 7 at 1pm?

April 21, in Lyons Hall (NOTE: this is a change in location
from previous years). This is a fabulous free dance, with a

MIT Danceathon, Saturday, Lindy lesson

The Lindy Hop Society will participate in MIT Dance-a-thon
this Saturday. Specifically, I will be teaching a short
Beginner Lindy Hop lesson from 6:30 pm (sharp!) to 7:00 pm.

Is there a follower out there who can join me at around 6pm
to help teach the lesson with me? I will be doing the
instructing, so all you need to do is follow basic Lindy
Hop.

I'm not sure how much dancing there will be otherwise, but
everyone is encouraged to show up to support this charity
event.

Lauren and Kevin will teach a two-week beginner Balboa class
this week. Balboa, or "Bal", is a type of swing originally
inspired by small crowded dance spaces, and frequently (but
not necessarily) danced to fast music.

This class is open to everyone, from complete beginners who
have never danced any swing to anyone wanting to review and
refresh their Balboa steps.
