Hello!
My name is Sara North. I'm a film and communications major at Gordon College in Wenham, MA. I have a video assignment coming up that is to film a music
video and, being a former competitive ballroom dancer I chose to do Bobby Darin's "Mack the Knife". My video is going to be the basic "guy wants to get
girl" story set in a 1950's school dance. In order for my video to be successful, I'm going to need a lot of dancers. I thought that perhaps I'd ask
around to the local swing and ballroom groups to get as many dancers as I can. I could use dancers of all ability levels, but some advanced dancers would
be great as well so I could showcase their talents in my video- specifically with a lindy scene at the end. I pretty much need to fill up a whole gym of
people to make it seem as though it's a real school dance.
The actual date of the shoot is not set yet, though it will be some evening between 2/14 and 2/21 in Beverly, MA. If you think you could help me out in
any way that would be fantastic. It will pretty much be the laid back atmosphere of a social dance, just I'll be filming it and I'm hoping to have a
choreographed part at the end. It would be great if anyone from your group is willing to attend and participate in my video. Since it's essentially
non-budget filmmaking, I can't pay anyone but I'll provide snacks and beverages. If you think this is something you think you could help me out with, that
would be absolutely fantastic and I can give more details of the time/place and the story of the video. Thank you so much for your time.
